Bump and Run

Low chip that rolls

Pronunciation

/bʌmp ænd rʌn/

Definition

A low chip shot that rolls most of the way to the hole. The bump and run is useful when there are no obstacles between the ball and the hole, allowing the ball to roll along the ground like a putt. It's considered a safer play than a high-lofted shot.

Example

"He played a bump and run to get close to the pin."
